Patchworkers colour fabrics with silk paint. Dilute your silk paint 3 parts water to 1 part silk paint. Then with a dropper disperse the paint over your fabrc, preferably use 3 to 4 colours and then allow the secondary colours to develop.
To develop a more textured effect sprinkle salt over the area which is brused off once the paint has dreied. To set the paint iron the fabric or garment for 2 to 3 mins on the silk setting on your iron. Click on the following link to view the silk paints:
