To add further to the use of rust dyed fabric l have in these photos used a piece of the rust dyed fabric as backing fabric for this small quilt. It blends very well with the bright bold colors used in the quilt top. You will also note that the backing fabric has been bought around to the front to form the bindings. A great fabric and time saving technique

Dying Fabric With A Twist
It can be so easy to dye fabric. As l was sorting thru some fabric scraps came across the piece that was dyed with rusty nails. The rusty nails were wrapped in the fabric and left sitting in a bucket of water for approxmently 4 weeks. Once unwrapped the fabric was washed in white vinegar( to prevent the dye running) and ironed.
Such a easy way to create more fabric and use up any old cotton sheets.
